The terror attack was carried out in the city of Sarbaz, Sistan-Baluchestan on Thursday night, stated provincial chief of police Brigadier General Hossein Rahimi on Friday.
"Last night, 2 masked bikers attempted a terrorist attack in the city of Sarbaz, where they killed 2 people,” the police commander stated.
He explained that the first victim was a Sunni Basij member who was killed on his way back home after he went shopping.
The official added that the second attack took place when terrorist members opened fire on a Shia teacher some two hundred meters from where the first attack had happened.
After the attack, the terrorists fled the area.
Rahimi noted that his forces, along with forces from the IRGC, and the Intelligence Ministry were working to identify the terrorist attackers.
Sistan-Baluchestan Province has been the scene of numerous terror attacks in the past years.
In late November 2014, 3 Iranian security forces were shot dead by unknown attackers.
3 police officers were also martyred in early October 2013when they were attacked at nighttime by armed bandits while they were on a patrol mission in Saravan.
