Iran categorically blasted a terrorist attack in the Iraqi capital eastern district of Sadr City in Baghdad on Monday which claimed the lives of dozens of workers and citizens.
Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi also extended condolences to Iraqi nation and government over the attack.
He referred to increasing terrorist attacks in the region, particularly in Iraq over last few days, and said the moves are Takfiri terrorists’ reaction to egregious failures in recent weeks and also the result of lack of serious will among those claim to fight terrorism in the region and world.
He expressed the hope that political process in the Christian New Year would lead to collective unity for serious battle against terrorism.
A suicide bomber driving a pickup loaded with explosives struck a bustling market in Baghdad on Monday, killing at least 36 people in an attack claimed by the ISIL terrorist group.
