The President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has announced Iran's readiness to support the proposed plan for an anti-poverty fund in Asia.
Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has in his meeting with Sheikh Ali Jarrah al-Sabah, the Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs, which was held in Tehran on Sunday said that he would support the Kuwaiti proposal for the launching of a $2 billion fund for fighting poverty in Asia.

Assessing Iran-Kuwait relations as brotherly, the President said that cooperation rendered at such lofty horizons will surely strengthen mutual ties and contribute to the solidarity of countries in the region.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad also declared Iran's readiness to support the Kuwaiti proposal for the establishment of a $2 billion fund to fight poverty in Asia.

The Kuwaiti Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs recognized Iran as playing an important role in the region and stated that the country's participation is Asian forums will most likely contribute to their success and the realization of their plans.

Al-Sabah also provided comments on the expanding relations between Tehran and Kuwait City and said that Sheik Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah firmly supports strengthening ties with the Iranian government.
