Iran and Russia signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) to expand peaceful nuclear cooperation.
Iran, Russia sign 2 MoU on peaceful nuclear cooperationSpokesman of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi who has visited Russia discussed bilateral atomic cooperation between Tehran and Moscow with and Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation, Rosatom’s CEO Alexey Likhachev.

The MoU included the first phase of mutual cooperation in stable isotopes under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as well as a roadmap to implement a MoU already inked with Rosatom late 2015 on peaceful use of nuclear energy.

Kamalvandi who visited Russia also discussed bilateral cooperation in building new plans and Iran’s nuclear deal.

Iranian Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaie was also present in the meeting.

Iranian and Russia officials further conferred on building two new power plants in southern Iranian province of Bushehr and mutual cooperation in Fordo site, central Iran.
