Iran categorically blasted terrorist attack in Lahore, Pakistan.
Iran condemns Lahore deadly attack"Through such inhumane and brutal actions, terrorist groups are trying to target will of regional nations in fighting and uprooting terrorism, but we are confident that incidents like what happened in Lahore will fail to help the groups obtain their ominous goals,” said Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran will always stand by Pakistani nation and government in battling terrorism.”

The attack killed at least 13 people and wounded 83 others.

The powerful blast ripped through a protest rally organized by Pakistani chemists and pharmaceuticals manufacturers near the provincial assembly in the eastern city of Lahore on Monday.

The explosion occurred when a man on a motorcycle rammed into the crowd of hundreds of pharmacists, who were protesting new amendments to a law governing drug sales, according to local police official, Zaheer Abbas.

The Jamaat-ur-Ahrar faction of the Pakistani Taliban has claimed responsibility for the bombing.
