TEHRAN, June 8, YJC - Deputy Secretary of Iranian Supreme National Security Council Reza Seifollahi said the country has identified and dismantled 58 terrorist groups belonging to Daesh over last few years.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -
"The teams were dismantled due to security and intelligence systems’ intelligence domination and people’s cooperation, he said.
Daesh has been seeking insecurity in Iran, but it has had the least success in creating insecurity in Iran over these years, Seifollahi said.
Those behind terrorist attacks in Tehran on Wednesday had joined Daesh from some regions of Iran and had cooperated with them in Daesh-held areas in regional countries, he said.
The Iranian official also reiterated that the country’s security and intelligence systems are trying to still keep national security.
12 were killed and 42 were injured in twin terrorist attacks at Iranian parliament and Imam Khomeini’s mausoleum on Wednesday.
