TEHRAN, YJC. -- NOC. CEO says a 260-billion-ft3 gas in place filed is discovered in western Iran.
The CEO of the Iranian National Oil Company Ahmad Qalebani says that a huge gas in place field is discovered in Ilam province.
Qalebani said that data show that the reservoir horizon for the field is 260 billion ft3 and the extractable gas 175 ft3.
"This gas field is 28 km long and 4 km wide and is situated in the eastern Ilam province,” he said.
"Following geological data analysis, a well 2200 meters deep was proposed by the NOC management at the anticline point. As the drilling was accomplished and reservoir tests carried out, sweet gas was discovered on the Ilam horizon at 13 million ft3 per day.
