Iranian parliamentary commission approves 2nd biannual report on JCPOA implementation

TEHRAN, June 15, YJC - The Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission approved the second biannual report on the implementation of the July 2015 nuclear deal between Tehran and six world powers, known as the JCPOA, a member of the commission said.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Speaking to the Tasnim News Agency, Abolfazl Hassanbeigi said the biannual report on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) was submitted to the presiding board of the parliament.
 
He added that the report would be read out in an open session of the parliament in coming weeks.
 
The nuclear committee of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission drafted the report.
 
Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, US, Britain, France, and Germany) on July 14, 2015, reached a conclusion over the text of the JCPOA, which took effect in January 2016.
 
According to a law that requires the Iranian administration to safeguard the nation’s achievements and nuclear rights, the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission has been tasked with monitoring "the proper implementation” of the JCPOA, and is required to submit a report on the issue to the presiding board of the parliament every six months.
