TEHRAN, August 15, YJC - The UN Security Council should call on Washington to abide by its commitments under the nuclear agreement between Iran and the P5+1 group, said a political expert.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - “According to the international treaties and especially the nuclear deal among seven nations, this is the United States that should be pushed now, that should go under pressure by the international community, by the Security Council, in order to stand the deal and comply with its undertakings under the deal,” Seyed Mostafa Khoshcheshm said on Tuesday.
The analyst said US President Donald Trump probably wants to discard the nuclear agreement, because it is a longstanding way of conduct that the American authorities kick off an international accord and then they start neglecting their commitments.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China, plus Germany, reached the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) on July 14, 2015 and began implementing it in January 2016.
