Tehran, YJC. Governor of the Central Bank says he has operationalized 90 pct of his plans during his term in the office and would have brought inflation under 5 percent if there were no sanctions and subsidies plan.

Mahmoud Bahmani said "I had said that I would take inflation rate from 25 to 9.8 percent, which I did.”

He then added that despite his efforts, inflation heightened again, for which sanctions, decrease in currency income, decrease in import, lower domestic product and distribution were all responsible.

He added "If all these were not there we would have the inflation rate below 5 percent.”
