Qalibaf way ahead: Opinion Poll

Tehran, YJC. Mehr News Agency has conducted a polling on public favor towards each of the presidential candidates.

Mehr News Agency has carried out public opinion surveys with a group of 1500 over 18 from Tehran to find the most favorite candidate.

The poll also surveys the sample group’s interest in following electoral news and campaigns.

5.8 percent have said they will vote for Qalibaf, 11.5 percent for Jalili, 8.3 percent for Velayati, 6.9 percent for Haddad Adel, 6.5 for Rezaei, 3.3 for Aref, 2.5 percent for Rohani, and less than one percent for Qarazi.

Interest in electoral news in two polling periods


As for the sources where the sample group received news the national TV and Radio ranked first with 54.1 percent, newspapers followed with 17.6 percent, satellite channels with 12.2 percent, the internet with 9.3 percent, and friends and family with 6.3 percent.

The polls also showed that political entities’ favor are as follows:

Principalists 26.3 percent, Reformists 23.8 percent, government wing 8.3 percent, independent candidates 18.4 percent.

30.2 percent have also said they had no idea in this regard and 2.9 percent provided no answer.



Views on political entities likely to win elections



Those who will surely or highly probably vote will choose their candidates as:

Qalibaf 35.8 percent, Jalili 11.5 percent, Velayati 8.3 percent, Haddad Adel 6.9 percent, Rezaei 6.5 percent, Aref 3.3 percent, Rohani 2.5 percent, and Qarazi less than one percent. 22.6 percent have provided no answer.
