TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Commander of Islamic Republic of Iran Army, Major General Seyyed Abdul-Rahim Mousavi, said at the army commander presentation ceremony “Thank god for blessing me with the honour of serving this nation, and the Supreme Commander of All Forces for giving me such an opportunity.”

He continued “General Salehi is one of the most worthy people whom I have learned a lot from and owe him a great deal. Filling in his position is a very difficult task which I hope I succeed in. My presence as a member of the general staff can lead to much cooperation between the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Army.”

The Commander stressed that the IRGC and the Army have distinct operating fields and responsibilities, and the two parties have an overall of less than 20% in common. However, he added, the army will not allow the unity between them to be damaged.
"We'll push for more cooperation with other armed forces as highlighted in the appointment decree by the Supreme Leader, and we will also boost communications with the IRGC and the Ministry of Defense", Army commander pledged.

Major General Seyyed Abdul-Rahim Mousavi also said that the Army is working on a five-year plan to provide better conditions for personnels as instructed by the Supreme Leader.
