TEHRAN, August 28 - A member of Iran’s Parliament National Security Commission says the US has not legal instruments for inspecting Iran’s military installations.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Morteza Saffari Natanzi said “that the Americans intend to hinder the implementation of JCPOA (Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action) is undoubted, yet accusing Iran of violating the deal is kind of escaping ahead”.
Asserting that the US lacks the legal instruments to inspect Iran’s military installations, Saffari said that according to the JCPOA deal, AEIA can not provide the US with Iran and other countries’ secret information about their nuclear activities.
“the recent 40-year experiences show that the Americans have always been finding fault with Iran and this time also they intend to suggest to the international community that Iran is violating JCPOA, yet our diplomacy system must act more vigilantly” he added.
Saffari Natanzi noted that the Americans should recognize that their sabotages in the implementation of JCPOA could be confronted legally through the deal itself.
Iran and the five permanent members of the UN Security Council – the United States, Britain, France, Russia and China – plus Germany reached the JCPOA on July 14, 2015 and began implementing it in January 2016.
Iran has been complaining that the US, under the administration of President Donald Trump, has been seeking to sabotage international trade with Iran. This is while according to the deal, the US must “refrain from any policy specifically intended to directly and adversely affect the normalization of trade and economic relations with Iran.”
The US has also imposed sanctions on Iran over the country’s missile activities, including most recently on July 28.
