TEHRAN, August 28 - On the first days of Zi al-Hijah month, an Italian lady converted to Shi’ite Islam by uttering Shahadatain in the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza (A.S.).

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Patricia Monotofarlou said, "This decision is the result of 10 years of research and study on various religions, and after reading about Islam, some truths which were my concern became clear to me.”

"I always wanted to know why the governments put pressure on Muslims and try to spread Islamophobia; this curiosity incited me to get more information about this religion, despite all these attacks and propaganda against Islam”, the Muslim convert added.

“Islam is based on love, moderation, and peace, and this message fascinated me and other European youth”, she said.

Noting that her husband is a Muslim but has left her completely free in choosing her religion, Monotofarlou added, “Formerly, the reason for accepting Islam was perhaps marriage to a Muslim, but today conditions are completely different, and now the message that this religion sends to the western youth is the main reason for this inclination.”

"The words cannot describe my true and inner feelings of being present in this sacred place, and I thank only the great God for this blessing," the Italian lady expressed happily for going on the pilgrimage of Imam Reza (A.S.) Holy Shrine.
