Ahmadinejad orders currency for import

Tehran, YJC. The president has ordered a meeting with importers and the Central Bank to define ways of providing currency for the import section.

Speaking in the sidelines of the meeting for the introduction of top 100 companies, Mehdi Ghazanfari, the Islamic Republic of Iran's Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade, provided comments on a meeting with the President by importers.

Mehdi Ghazanfari said "In yesterday's meeting of the cabinet with the presence of the Prsident, a report was delivered on the operation of the Exchange Center in procurement of the currency needed by importers and producers by the center to Dr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad which was satisfactory to him.”
Ghazanfari added that accordingly the President has ordered a meeting today with importers and the Central Bank Governor sot that matters are settled and a special procedure for the procurement of currency via the Exchange Center is laid.

"By adapting the country's trade pattern to the currency basket with the Central Bank, we hope that we could make effective use of the country's currency reserves for the gratification of production needs and staple,” added Ghazanfari.

He also said that accordingly, the governments demands producers to set currency making among their tasks in the coming year and help production earn the currency it needs.
