Aref criticizes restrictions on political activities in universities

TEHRAN, YJC. Aref says that during the past years a lot of restriction has been directed at student regarding their political activities.
Mohammadreza Aref, speaking in an electoral talk show on the national TV on Wednesday said "I am a university professor and know that an unprecedented security aura has been created during the last few years, which has resulted in a lack of morale for students since he would not have any inclination to take part in political activities. They were even not given permission to take part in corporate activities in some cases.”

He added "With the disciplinary committee, the student has in fact been moved down a special educational channel. It is to regret that the asterisk sign given to students has sometimes prevented them from pursuing their studies.”

Aref criticized the fact that throughout the country the spring semester has been cut short, stressing the need that in the contrary, students must take presence on the political scene of the country at the time of elections.

He considered universities and students as a key part of the political atmosphere of the country and expressed regret that the examinations time at universities coincide with the peak of electoral activities.
