Tehran, YJC. Principalist activist says that he believes Rouhani to be an independent person who will maintain relations with all political sides.

Mehsen Koohkan said "We expect Mr. Rouhani to consider piety, revolutionariness, and effectiveness in choosing his coworkers. We hope that his outlook is not political.”

"We do not consider Dr. Rouhani as a Reformist and we believe that he has his own policy to moderately use all wings. We have to keep in mind that he used to be the Leader’s representative in the Supreme Council for National Security for years,” he also said.

Koohkan added "People with different tastes supported and voted for him to make him President. We do not see him as the opposite point of the Principalists. Many individuals working in the Strategic Center of the Expediency Discernment Council have said time after time that he is pious, devout, and revolutionary.”

He asserted that Rouhani is not far from the Principalist circle and said "Mr. Rouhani was the First Deputy Speaker of the 4th Majlis,” adding, "but people sometimes draw lines between themselves and other currents, which is not wise.”

He pointed out that as Rouhani has promised to use moderate figures from both Principalist and Reformist wings, there would be no need for disconcerting statements.
