Tehran, YJC. Mohammad Nabi Habibi has said that as Rouhani has stressed forming a cross-factional administration with moderate members, he must take care in choosing Reformists.

Secretary General of the Islamic Coalition Party said in an interview "Mr. Rouhani has said many times that he will form a cross-factional administration and will use moderate Principalist and Reformist figures in the Administration of Foresight and Hope. The President-elect must be careful in choosing Reformists.”

Mohammadnabi Habibi said, commenting on the Principalist’s defeat, that the main reason for the loss has been the multiplicity of Principalist candidates.

He added "The Islamic Coalition had announced 8 months before that it would introduce a candidate for the presidentials, but if there were a coalition to reach union and the Principalists made consensus on someone else our candidate would resign. The Coalition finally kept its word.”

"If the other Principalists were in agreement with each other there would have been no multiplicity of candidates, we would not have been experiencing what has happened now,” he asserted.

Habibi then said "If Rouhani acts as he promised, good things will happen. He has asserted in his campaigns many times that he will form a cross-factional administration and will use moderate Principalist and Reformist figures in the Foresight and Hope Administration.”

He further said "Using Reformists in the future administration needs care and the President-elect must take care that the Reformists he is going to use must have proved their adherence to the Guardianship of the Jurist and the Constitution in practice.”
