Tehran, YJC. Hassan Rouhani says he is grateful to Hashemi for his patience and silence.
Speaking in a session held to appreciate the efforts of his campaign staff officials and supporters, Hassan Rouhani said on Thursday "I must thank Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani whose patience and silence was nice and full of meaning. I must also thank the Reformist and Principalist parties.”
He asserted "The nicety was not the fact that efforts ended in the name of Hassan Rouhani. What was beautiful, and all felt it, was that many people condoned many things. They compromised parties and factions, and that’s what is important.”
He also pointed to problems conveyed to him in meetings with various officials and said "These days as ministry officials come see me and we are busy with the conveyance of power, problems become more tangible to me, but all that I hear does not make me loose hope, I rather intensify my efforts.”
He added "I am sure that people’s presence is not limited to the election days, rather their support and guidance will remain for this administration. I must also thank my dear brother Aref for his ethical act. With this act he showed his character.”
