TEHRAN, November 15 - Iran’s iron ore exports reached nearly $600 million over the first 7 months of Iranian calendar year (started on March 20, 2017).

Iran’s iron ore exports hit $600 mlnTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Iran has exported 10.800 million tons of iron ore during the above-mentioned period which worth $592.800 million.

Iran has exported iron ore to China, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Afghanistan, Germany, the UAE, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Japan, Russia, India, Iraq and Timor during the period.

China has bought 10.300 million tons of Iran’s iron ore worth $571.461 million, 95 percent of Iran’s exported iron ore over the 7 months.

In September, Iran discovered a new iron ore mine in the central city of Yazd, estimated to hold 2 billion tones of reserves with iron content of 70 percent.

The reserves were discovered recently at a depth of 1,500 meters, Director General of Industry, Mine and Trade of Yazd Province Mohammad Reza Alamdar-Yazdi told a news conference.
