TEHRAN, December 22 - The new anti-dumping methodology issued by the European Union takes discriminative and unfair measures against China, says the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The EU has recently released new anti-dumping rules that remove the former distinction between "market and non-market economies" for calculating dumping, said Hua Chunying, spokeswoman of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at a press briefing on Thursday.

Instead, the rules require the proving of the existence of a "significant market distortion" between a product's sale price and its production cost, she added.

The official said, "The EU issued a report which contained carping criticism on the development of the Chinese economy. It fabricated some pretexts to take discriminative and unfair measures against China, but said nothing about its violation of World Trade Organization (WTO) rules. The action of adopting double standards is so hypocritical.”

“Under the circumstance where interest convergence is being deepened among all the countries in the world, the EU holds a zero-sum game mentality to confront with rational win-win cooperation. The EU is doubtlessly taking measures without attention to changes in circumstances, and will harm the interests of its own and the others," said Hua.
