TEHRAN, January 19 - Iran’s LPG liftings in January edged up to around 374,000 mt after shipments began recovering in December at 373,000 mt, following a downtrend since September on lower output at the South Pars gas field amid a two-month maintenance, trade sources said this week.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The latest shipments are bound for China, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Pakistan and possibly East Africa, according to cFlow, S&P Global Platts’ ship-tracking software.
Iran shipped about 3.5 million mt of LPG in 2017, with the highest monthly volume seen in August at 423,000 mt before the maintenance, which ended around mid-November, sources said.
Thai trader Siam Gas has lifted this month a cargo comprising 33,000 mt propane and 11,000 butane at Assaluyeh from Iranian Gas Commercial Co. aboard the VLGC Ming De.
The vessel is now off South East India and is due to arrive at Si Racha, on the east coast of Thailand, later this week, according to cFlow.
Naftiran Intertrade Co., a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Co., has lifted a 44,000 mt evenly split LPG cargo from Assaluyeh on the VLGC BW Tyr, which is now just off Mumbai, cFlow showed.
International trading firm Petredec has lifted aboard the Pacific Shanghai a 44,000 mt evenly split cargo from Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industry Commercial Co. at Assaluyeh.
The VLGC, which is now near Sri Lanka, is due to arrive around January 23 at Teluk Semangka port, south of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, cFlow showed.
Petredec lifted a similar cargo last month for delivery to Kalbut on Sumatra island.
Petredec also lifted a 44,000 mt propane cargo from IGCC in November for delivery to Indonesia, cFlow showed.
State-run Pertamina has had a term contract with Petredec since 2007, which will run until December 31, 2018, for supplying one to four 44,000 mt cargoes/month, a source said, while other sources said that the contract supplies up to five cargoes/month.
Pertamina itself is not lifting any cargoes from Iran in January. It last lifted a 44,000 mt Iranian propane cargo around end December aboard the VLGC Pertamina Gas 1, which arrived at Kalbut on January 12.
That cargo was under an FOB contract that began in May 2016 between Pertamina and NIOC for a total of 600,000 mt of LPG to be delivered over 2016-2017.
That contract, which has been taken over by Iranian Gas Commercial Co. early last year, was due to be renegotiated in Switzerland after some delays, a source familiar with the matter said recently.
Pertamina will not load any more cargoes from Iran until the contract is renewed for 2018, the source said.
Iranian trading firm Caspian Petrochemical is loading a cargo comprising 33,000 mt propane and 11,000 mt butane from PGPICC at Assaluyeh aboard the Pacific Rizhao.
The VLGC, which is now near the Singapore Straits, is bound for Qinzhou in southern China’s Guangxi province.
Caspian Petrochemical will also lift from Kharg Petrochemical a 24,000 mt mixed cargo and a 20,000 mt mixed cargo from PGPICC at Bandar Imam Khomeini, aboard the VLGC Gas Dignity.
The vessel is currently in the Mediterranean, according to cFlow.
Its destination was not yet known, though it has made several trips to southern China, cFlow showed.
Another Iranian trading firm, Triliance, will lift from IGCC a cargo comprising 33,000 mt propane and 11,000 mt butane aboard the Gas Crystal.
The destination of the VLGC, which is on the way Assaluyeh, is not yet known, though it has also made several trips to China, cFlow showed.
Triliance is also lifting aboard the vessel EverRich 6 at Bandar Abbas, a 5,000 mt parcel cargo from IGCC. The vessel was making a return trip from Port Qasim in Pakistan, cFlow showed.
Trading firm Global Reality will be lifting a cargo comprising 33,000 mt propane and 11,000 mt butane from IGCC at Assaluyeh aboard the Gas Jasmine.
The vessel, which is off the Iranian coast, has also made several trips to southern China, cFlow showed.
International trading firm Glencore is lifting an 18,000 mt mixed parcel from IGCC at Assaluyeh aboard the 38,000-dwt vessel SeaSpeed.
The destination was not immediately known, though Glencore has discharged in Mombasa, Kenya, around mid-December a PGPICC cargo aboard the same vessel, according to cFlow.
