An oil industry official has announced the production of natural gas for the first time in the country.
Mohammad Bagher Soleimani, Director of Production Affairs of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company has provided comments on the NGL production. "By launching this project, which both provides Qeshm and Kish islands with their daily gas input and gathers the gas that comes with oil, for the first time the natural gas pentane was produced,” said he, pointing to the production of NGL in the country.

He said that pentane comes with a formula similar to gasoline and added that it could be used instead of gas.

Answering a question as if pentane could be used to run vehicles he said "For that it is necessary that the product be used as mix.”

Director of Production Affairs of the Iranian Offshore Oil Company stated that the natural gas enjoys various usages and provided comments on the production volume for this product in the country. "With the operation of Siri NGL approximately 1,300 barrels of natural gasoline will be produced each day.”
