Tehran, YJC. Some news sources say that Morteza Sarmadi is likely to replace Abbas Araqchi as the Foreign Ministry Spokesman.

News sources speculate that the former Iranian nuclear and veteran diplomat negotiator Morteza Sarmadi is going to replace Abbas Araqchi as the Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Prior to this, speculations rather inclined to assign that Sarmad asi first Spokesman for the FM will be in the position of the minister’s vice chancellor.

For a time the former General Director of the News Office of the Foreign Ministry Marzieh Afkham was also considered a hypothetical choice for the position.

Sources say that Afkham is likely to replace Ramin Mehmanparast in the Public Diplomacy and Press Office.

Some speculations also place the Iranian Ambassador to France Ali Ahani as the future Iranian Deputy in EU and US affairs, and the country’s Ambassador to China Mehdi Safari as the next Asia-Pacific Deputy.

Some other say that the former spokesman Mohammadali Hosseini will become the EU and US deputy.

These speculations come at a time when no official source in the Foreign Ministry has made a statement in this regard.
