TEHRAN, February 16 - Ali Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei on international affairs is in Iraq for talks with senior official of the country.

Iran’s Velayati in Iraq for talks on bilateral tiesTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - During his visit to the neighboring state, Velayati will take part in the opening ceremony of the Iraqi Forum for Proximity of Islamic Unity and sit down for talks with the country’s top-ranking officials on bilateral ties as well as latest regional developments.

Velayati, also secretary general of the Islamic Awakening Conference, will first visit Najaft and then leave for Karbala.

Velayati’s trip to Iraq takes place at the invitation of Head of Iraqi Forum for Proximity of Islamic Unity Seyyed Ali Alaq.
