Rumors on American vehicle imports aim to trouble government: official

Tehran, YJC. Lawmaker has said that rumors on importing American vehicles date to the previous administration, asking officials to take action.

Head of the Car Manufacturers’ Research and Investigation Committee of the Majlis said that rumors on importing American vehicles to Iran belong to the previous administration, asking officials of the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade and the Customs to end the rumors by clarifying the issue.

Ali Aliloo provided comments on the rumors on the import of secondhand vehicles said "We ask officials at the Ministry of Industries and Customs to end these rumors.”

Aliloo added "If the news are true, then the government must give truthful information, if not, necessary evidence must be issued to enlighten the public mind so that other media would not create side issues.”

He also added that if vehicles are imported illegally officials would have to explain to the public.

He pointed out that the rumors came to the scene around a month ago, adding that the matter must be coped with, since some parties intend to take advantage of the issue against the incumbent administration.
