Tehran, YJC. Foreign Ministry Spokesman has said that Asqar Soltaniyeh’s mission in IAEA is over and someone else has to replace him.

Speaking in an interview with YJC, the Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araqchi provided comments on reports regarding the representative of Iran in the International Atomic Energy Agency to return to Iran at the turn of the administrative term and said "As his mission has ended, Soltaniyeh has returned to Iran. Accordingly someone else has been considered as his replacement, whose name will be announced after bureaucratic steps are taken.”

Araqchi also pointed to the transfer of the nuclear case form the Majlis Committee for National Security and Foreign Policy to the Foreign Ministry and maintained "No special change has been made in transferring the nuclear case from the National Security Committee to the ministry yet.”

It is said that the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic is going to take on the handling of the Iranian nuclear case.

Prior to this, the case was in the hands of the Majlis Committee for national Security and Foreign Policy headed by Alaeddin Boroujerdi.

It is hoped that the transfer will bring a change in the Iran-West negotiations that follow.
