IME trading grows by 78% in second week of February

TEHRAN, February 17- 848,675 MT of commodities worth over $460 million were traded in Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) over second week of February, trading volume and value experienced a growth of 78% and 46%, respectively.

IME trading grows by 78% in second week of FebruaryTEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - According to the report from IME International Affairs and PR, last week, on the domestic and export metal and mineral trading floor of IME, 415,796 MT of various products worth close to $225 million were traded.

On this trading floor, 296,234 MT of steel products, 110,000 MT of iron ore, 3,670 MT of copper, 1,640 MT of aluminum, 12 MT of precious metal concentrates, 190 MT of molybdenum concentrates, 50 MT of zinc ingot, 50 CERATO made cars as well as 4,000 MT of cement were traded.

The report declares that on domestic and export oil and petrochemical trading floors of IME, 351,484 MT of different commodities with the total value of $199.7 million were traded.

On this trading floor, more than 194,307 MT of bitumen, 62,233 MT of polymer products, 44,250 MT of VB feed stock as well as 17,000 MT of lube-cut oil, 25,018 MT of chemical products, 7,064 MT of sulfur, 600 MT of insulation and 1,012 MT of heavy paraffin wax were traded.

Moreover, on the agricultural trading floor of IME, 77,293 MT of various commodities worth over $22.4 million were traded. On this trading floor, 63,850 MT of wheat, 483,100 day old chicks, 6,360 MT of maize, 2,500 MT of crude vegetable oil as well as 4,100 MT of sugar were traded by customers.

It is worth noting that during this week; the side market of IME witnessed trading of 1,558 MT of frozen meat, 1,364 MT of polyester threads A, B and WP, 30 MT of metal waste, 100 MT of ferrosilicium, as well as 50 tons of used locomotive engine oil.
