Tehran, YJC. The president has expressed concern over the use of chemical weapons in Syria.

Hassan Rouhani expressing regret for the regional disturbances said "The current situations in Syria which have lead to the poisoning and death of innocent people by chemical elements are condemned.”

Speaking in the shrine of Imam Khomeini after his visit there as part of the first day of the Government’s Week programs, Rouhani added "The application of chemical weapons is condemned. The Islamic Republic of Iran, itself a victim of chemical weapons, announces to the global community that it will use all its power to fight these weapons.”

He asserted "We believe that regional insecurity, terrorist actions in Palestine, and attacks on Lebanon are condemned and that they show that enemies have devised a big scheme for the Middle East region.”

"We know that regional instability is to the detriment of regional countries and in the favor of Israel. So we hope that as regional countries grow more conscious, stability makes its way to the region,” Rouhani further said.
