He said that Pakistan’s relations with Iran are not because of the nuclear deal and the relationship is a deep one.

He expressed hope that the volume of bilateral ties between Iran and Pakistan would reach $5 billion by 2020.

Asked about US meddlesome remarks on Iran’s missile systems, he said, “It is Iran which should decide about this issue. It is Iran’s right not to let US make any comments about this issue. Iran is a free country and has a right to defend itself.”

Iran and the P5+1 countries — namely the US, Russia, China, France, Britain, and Germany — finalized the nuclear accord, officially called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), in July 2015 and started implementing it in January 2016.

Under the deal, Iran undertook to apply certain limits to its nuclear program in exchange for the termination of all nuclear-related sanctions against Tehran.
