TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club(YJC) - According to the report, also published by a number of other German media, the reason behind such a refusal was the companies’ fearing from being imposed sanctions by US.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif was supposed leave Munich for Moscow, so the Iranian consulate in Munich requested the German airport to supply the Iranian top diplomat’s plane. Yet, Munich airport rejected the request, because the responsible companies refused to fuel the plane in question.

In this regard, the head of Munich Security Conference Wolfgang Ischinger told the media that he difficultly managed to solve the problem, seeking help from Germany’s Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs.

Finally, Germany’s Air Force fueled Zarif’s Airbus plane, Süddeutsche reported.

Iran and the five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council – the US, France, Britain, Russia and China – plus Germany signed the nuclear agreement on July 14, 2015 and started implementing it on January 16, 2016.

Under the JCPOA, Iran undertook to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions imposed against Tehran.
