Arab Union trying ban Israel candidacy in UNSC

TEHRAN, March 10 - Arab countries are trying to ban Israel's candidacy for UN Security Council as a non-permanent member in the coming June election, Arab Union Spokesman announced.

TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Mahmoud Affifi reported of an election of UNSC non-permanent membership which is to be held in the coming June.

“Israel is a candidate for the West and other countries alongside Belgium and Germany. The Arab countries have put a lot of efforts against the candidacy of Israel in the UNSecurity Council” the spokesman stated.

Affifi stressed that the Israeli regime is an occupation regime usurped the Arab countries’ territories and can not be take part in UNSC election as a candidate.

Accepting the Israeli regime in UNSC is a kind of normalization of international relations with Tel Aviv and a concealed agreement with the regime’s aggression in Middle East, Affifi asserted.

It is while the occupied Palestinian territories have witnessed a new wave of tension ever since Trump announced his decision on December 6 last year to recognize Jerusalem al-Quds as Israel’s capital and relocate the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the occupied city.
