TEHRAN, March 14 - Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said French President Emmanuel Macron’s upcoming travel to Iran has nothing to do with recent visit of French FM to Tehran.
TEHRAN,Young Journalists Club (YJC) - He made the remarks after some media said Macron would cancel his upcoming visit to Iran after what happened following Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian’s presence in Tehran.
“There has been no such issue. Mr. Macron said he is willing to travel Iran. As I have already said the time of this visit is still unclear and I do not see any link between visit of French foreign minister and upcoming visit by Mr. Macron,” he said.
He also called Le Drian’s visit to Iran as a normal one during which the two sides discussed bilateral, regional and international matters.
Qassemi continued Iran and France discussed issues of mutual interests including expanding economic ties during Le Drian’s visit.
