Hakim: Would not let Baath members back on

TEHRAN, YJC. Political consultant to Seyyed Ammar Hakim, Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Speaker, has said that they would not let dictatorship and the Baath party back in power.

Seyyed Mohsen Hakim, Leadership Council Member of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said in interview with Fars that some regional and ultra-regional powers attempt to weaken the country, stating that Baghdad tries to answer demonstrators' lawful demands based on the law.

He asserted that the Baath and al-Qaeda have no room in Iraqi political system and that if anyone is to lead Iraq back to dictatorship times they would fight them with the last drop of their blood.

He also said that disagreements between Baghdad and Kurdistan are not disagreements between the Shiite and the Kurd, but political-bureaucratic disagreements. He added "No basis but the constitution and no approach but political understanding will help solve problems.”

He also provided comments on the Iraqi President's health and said "According to latest reports Jalal Talabani is in good health and he is not unable of performing his presidency tasks.”
