Tehran, YJC. Lawmaker says Iran will not agree to the Additional Protocol, regarding it as a game by the US.

Speaking in interview with Tasnim, the Vice Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis pointed to reports by Western media that Iran has agreed to the Additional Protocol, saying "Lots of things may be said by Western press and diplomats, but the Iranian delegation to the 5+1 talks will not agree to things like the Additional Protocol.”

Mansour Haqiqatpour added "Western officials have stated things about Iran clarifying its nuclear program. These worlds mean nothing because the Islamic Republic of Iran does nothing covert and it will not back down from its rights.”

He asserted "Bringing up such issues is just political game by the US, because they want to catch up. They have to recognize Iran’s rights and bow down to Iran’s lofty scientific height.”

"The West must accept Iran’s indigenous ability to enrich nuclear fuel and remove the sanctions so that one can be optimistic about future negotiations,” he demanded.

He further explained that the Iranian government cannot disregard the parliament’s rule on the Additional Protocol.
