Iran, EU to resume parliamentary relations

Tehran, YJC. Boroujerdi says EU parliamentary delegation recognizes Iran nuclear rights, hoping stronger inter-parliamentary ties to develop.

Alaeddin Boroujerdi, Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Majlis, providing comments on his meeting with a delegation of European parliamentary officials said "In this meeting we had a long discussion about how to resume relations between the Majlis and European parliaments.”

He added "We also discussed Iran’s relations with the West under current situations and the unfair nature of the sanctions imposed on our country.”

Boroujerdi further stated that the parliamentary delegation from Europe has recognized Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy and expressed hopes for the future nuclear negotiations to produce desirable results.

He also pointed to the probability of visits to Europe by Iranian parliamentary delegations and said "It was decided that relations will be activated. They admitted the fact that new situations have come to exist which help improve relations.”
