Lavrov, Ashton discuss in Geneva achieving Sextet's mutually acceptable

Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton discussed on Friday evening in Geneva ways to achieve a mutually acceptable agreement between the Sextet and Iran, Russia's Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.
"They discussed the situation at the Geneva talks of the Sextet of international mediators with the Iranian representatives on the settlement of the situation around the Iranian nuclear programme. They focused on ways to achieve mutually acceptable agreements between the Sextet and Iran," the foreign ministry reported.
   
The Russian foreign minister arrived in Switzerland on Friday and headed immediately to the Intercontinental Hotel, where continue various contacts in the framework of the negotiations between Tehran and the Sextet /five permanent members of the United Nations' Security Council plus Germany.

Besides the meeting with Catherine Ashton, Lavrov had a 
meeting with Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif. Details of the meetings were not available.
