TEHRAN, YJC. Dean of Amirkabir University of Technology has said that the production of the flying model of the Nahid satellite has been arranged for late spring and the satellite will be launched early summer.
Alireza Rahaee, Dean of Amirkabir University of Technology said that the fifth part of the Nahid satellite are consigned to the university and are undergoing final stages of production.
"As arranged with Space Research Center the last phase of the project, namely production of the flying model, will be done late spring, so the satellite will be ready to launch early summer,” he stated.
Rahaee provided comments on problems in launching Nahid and said "For their launching position these satellites cannot be launched from old launchers and new ones are needed. With measures taken to prepare the Simorgh launcher there would be no problem by the time Nahid is ready.”
Nahid is the first Iranian satellite with splayed solar panels to be launched for imaging by Simorgh.
Authorities had promised the satellite to be launched by March.
