TEHRAN, YJC. The President has criticized some satellite service providers for taking programs off air despite contracts.

Speaking at the sidelines of the ceremony held at IRIB for launching two new channels, Ahmadinejad provided comments on the importance of television and radio as vital to the country and deemed as praiseworthy the developments made in the area.

He also pointed to problems in broadcasting and said "Broadcasting is as important as productions, because if content is produced but not broadcast there would be no use.”

Ahmadinejad also said sarcastically that maybe it is better to send a couple of satellites to the space and not worry about someone clicking them off at any moment. "In the area of media one cannot succeed by withholding and this is a policy that will fail, since whoever performs technically better would be the winner. In the cultural sphere withholding can be no approach.
