ISESCO meeting kicks off in southern Iran

TEHRAN, November 11 -The Meeting of Secretary Generals of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) National Commissions started work at the Islamic World Science Citation Center (ISC) in Shiraz on Sunday.

ISESCO meeting kicks off in southern Iran

TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - The event is underway with the attendance of 37 representatives from the Islamic countries.

ISESCO was founded by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in May 1979. With 52 member-states, ISESCO is one of the largest international Islamic organizations and specializes in the fields of education, science and culture.

During the first day of the event, Gholamreza Karimi, Secretary General of ISESCO, Iranian Minister of Education Mohammad Bathaei and representative of Morocco are expected to deliver speeches.

Some of the secretary generals of 24 ISESCO national commissions, including Iraq, Togo, Senegal, Jordan, Tunisia, Tajikistan, Sudan, Oman, Kuwait, Palestine, Maldives, Mauritania, Nigeria, Niger, Mali and Malaysia are present at the event.
