Save the Children, a UK-based charity, reported on Tuesday that nearly 85,000 children under the age of five may have starved to death in Yemen since the Saudi regime and its allies launched a deadly campaign against Yemen in 2015.
Max Igan, political commentator, told Press TV on Wednesday that “it is really the money involved in the arms sales ..., which is keeping this conflict going.”
The international community needs “to withdraw support from this country (Saudi Arabia) immediately and aid needs to be sent in [Yemen] and this conflict needs to stop,” the analyst said.
He also criticized international silence when it comes to the critical situation in Yemen, saying that “the UN is just paying lip service to the world to make it appear that it is actually doing something.”
