Some Iranian martyred in Karabakh war- Azerbaijani expert

TEHRAN, YJC. Roshan Nowruzoghlou, Director of the Non-Governmental Center for International War on Terrorism in Azerbaijan has said that tens of Iranians have fought in the Karabakh war and martyred.

Roshan Nowruzoghlou said "Iran’s demeanor regarding attack on the Republic of Azerbaijan has always been honest and grand, something we observed in the Karabakh conflict.”

Nowruzoghlou added "In the Karabakh war Iranian’s stood side by side the Azerbaijani. They new the meaning of war. Tens of Iranians who were there in war with Iraq were also present in the Karabakh front. They came from all Iranian ethnicities, including Fars, Azeri, and Kurd.”

He stressed the fact that the presence of Iranian citizens has been in line with the policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating "The Iranians went to the Karabakh fronts with love for martyrdom, because they knew that chances for their return were nearly null.”

Mohsen Rezaee, current Secretary of the Expediency Discernment Council and former Commander of the IRGC, had lately said "I had personally ordered the situation in Karabakh to be determined, the Army of the Republic of Azerbaijan be provided with proper military equipment, and necessary exercises be offered.”

Rezaee had said "Lots of Iranians took part in the Karabakh war. Besides the injured that were carried back to the country, many of the Iranian martyrs of the Karabakh war are buried in Baku and the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
