Flash floods hit Syrian refugee campTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) -Heavy rain and flooding wreaked havoc in Syria's Atma refugee camp, Turkish NGO Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) said in a written statement on Friday, December 28.

Footage released by IHH showed submerged refugee tents and flooded roads in refugee camps in Atma, located in Syria's Idlib province.

Heavy rain and flooding has created "catastrophic conditions" for those living in northern Syrian refugee camps, the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said on Wednesday.

Several camps have been submerged underwater and tents destroyed, the UK-based monitor said on its website. They also said that relief and service parties are doing nothing to help those impacted.

Syria's war has killed hundreds of thousands of people and forced millions to flee in the worst refugee crisis since World War Two.
