Tehran, YJC. Ayatollah Khatami says what the US pursues in talks with Iran is to hurt the country.
"Despite what it says, the US intends to damage the Islamic state
of Iran. If it lacks pretext, it will resort to human rights, ballistic
missiles, and regional affairs to hurt Iran,” said ayatollah Ahmad Khatami.
He added "Recent talks showed that the US is in no way
concerned with Iran’s nuclear case, but seeks a pretext by which to weaken the Islamic
state. We want people to investigate into the negotiations and make sense of
the nature of the US.”
"Mentioning the ballistic missiles is an example that they
merely seek excuses. But they have to know that negotiations concern only
nuclear issues. Nothing else is negotiable. If they want the talks to be effective
they must work within the framework of the talks,” he asserted.
Khatami added "Since the beginning of the Islamic state, the
US has threatened us, which is but beating empty vessels they did since the beginning
of the revolution and which is for domestic consumption.”
He further said "They equip the crazy Zionist regime. On the
other hand they seek to annihilate Iran’s long-range missiles. This is quite
irrational. It is Iran’s red line and we will never enter into that topic.”
