Vice President of Ladies’ Football Association has condemned the fact that the AFC does not admit any candidates to its Executive Committee.
"On February 24 the International Committee of the Federation
announced me for the Confederation’s Executive Committee candidature. This morning
the International Relations of the Football Federation received a letter from
the AFC saying that because a woman from Bangladesh has been appointed member
for central and southern Asia since 2011, and her term stretches to 2015, this
area of Asia cannot have another candidate,” said Farideh Shojaei, Vice
President of Ladies’ Football Association.
She believed that something unusual must have happened in
the AFC, since they themselves had asked for a candidate.
Shojaee asserted "We do not yet know what has happened.
Kafashian has said that he’d follow the issue vigorously. The interesting thing
is that none of the ladies who had applied for the Executive Committee, nor the
lady from Sri Lanka who is a member if the Committee, have my resume and
experience.”
