Tehran, YJC. Majlis speaker says the EUHR’s visit to a number of women activists is to damage her reputation.

In reaction to the EUHR in Foreign Affairs Catherin Ashton’s visit to some Iranian political activists, Ali Larijani said "The EU representative’s action was stealthy and utterly obscene. The Intelligence Ministry has to be careful.”

The Majlis Speaker added "What the EU representative did was gross because according to the protocol, they must have announced it beforehand if they had intended to have any meeting.”

"To make stealthy visits is below the Europeans themselves. They have to be careful what damage is done to their prestige by doing so,” he maintained.

Larijani’s statements followed a pointed criticism of the EUHR’s meeting by lawmaker Mehdi Kouchak Zadeh.
