TEHRAN, May 15 - Commander of Iran’s Border Police Brigadier General Qassem Rezaei highlighted the full security of the country’s borders and said terrorist groups are incapable of infiltrating into the Islamic Republic.
TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Speaking to reporters in the southwestern city of Ahvaz on Tuesday, Brigadier General Rezaei highlighted the enemy threats against the country and said they are nothing new for the Iranian nation.
“Today we are faced with a variety of threats, including terrorist threats created by the enemy in our neighboring countries,” he said.
“Everyone saw what Americans did in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, and how the people of these countries suffer from insecurity,” the commander added.
“However, all predictions have been made and we do not have any concerns about our borders,” he went on to say.
Brigadier General Rezaei further emphasized that Iran has sealed the common borders and that terrorist groups cannot infiltrate into the country from western or eastern borders.
In recent years, the Middle East has been plagued with Takfiri terrorist groups like Daesh (also known as ISIS or ISIL), which are believed to have been created and supported by the West and some regional Arab countries.
However, Iran is considered by many experts as the “island of stability” in a region which faces many security challenges.
In August 2016, Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei highlighted the strong security in Iran despite crises and insecurity in the region.
“Thank God and through the appreciated efforts and endeavors of the military and security forces, the country enjoys a strong security shield while regional countries are filled with incidents and insecurity,” the Leader said.
