TEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - According to IRIB, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council , Ali Shamkhani, was received by Iran's ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanaei, Russian security council officials and Kireev Mikhail Jurivich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan when he arrived in Ufa International Airport.

Shamkhani’s trip comes upon the official invitation of Russia's National Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

“In the current important and sensitive situation, this is a very important meeting,” Shamkhani told IRIB in an interview upon arrival at Ufa airport.

“We will discuss the Trumpism phenomenon, a political ideology that is neither globalist nor multilateralist nor unilateralist,” he added. He noted Trumpism is a new phenomenon that “is mostly based on egoism.”

According to Mehr News Agency, the three-day conference will start in Ufa on Tuesday, where high-ranking security officials of various countries will discuss ways of ensuring national security and sustainable economic and social development against a background of growing hybrid warfare threats.

International cooperation on the humanitarian response will be the main topic during the second day of the meeting, while on Thursday a roundtable discussion on the fight against extremist ideologies will take place.

A roundtable on the system of international information security as a guarantor for strategic stability and fair partnership will also be held on the last day of the Ufa conference as well as a series of bilateral meetings.

Shamkhani will also hold separate talks with his counterparts from different countries to discuss common security threats.

The forum has been held regularly by the Russia's National Security Council in one of the cities of Russia each year. The meetings have been previously held in the cities of Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, Kazan, Ulan-Ude, Grozny, the Tver region, and twice in Sochi.

Last year’s conference in Sochi was attended by delegates from 118 countries and three delegations from the UN bodies.
