TEHRAN, Jul 31 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said normalizing oil and banking ties is the first step of commitments that Iran expects Europe to fulfill.

Iran expects Europe to normalize oil, banking ties: RouhaniTEHRAN, Young Journalists Club (YJC) - Rouhani in a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron, said Europe has lost many opportunities to comply with its commitments and cooperate with Iran.

He noted Iran has abided by its agreement to the nuclear deal but only small part of its economic interest has been served so far.

Rouhani continued even after US withdrawal from the nuclear deal, Europe refused to show a serious reaction and some European companies left Iran as well.

He further noted that Iran has always been and would be one of the most important providers of security and freedom of shipping line in Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz and Oman Sea.

He noted Iran would always welcome any initiative to obtain “fair solutions and constructive talks”.

Macron, for his part, said France would do its best for securing Iran’s interests in the nuclear deal and normalizing economic ties between Iran and other European countries.

He further said US sanctions against Iran are unilateral and unacceptable, adding more cooperation is needed to choose a path for fair and appropriate solution to reduce regional tension and get a positive result.
