- According to Hojat-ol-Islam Gholamreza Abazari, “Hussein Yajmauna (Imam Hussein (AS) gathers us together)” is the motto of the pilgrimage.
He added that red has also been selected as the special color of the religious event.
Hojat-ol-Islam Abazari also described the Arbaeen pilgrimage as a unique phenomenon that brings the lovers of the truth together.
He underlined that the best should be made of the grand religious event.
Arbaeen, which is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, comes 40 days after Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hussein (AS).
Each year, a huge crowd of Shias flock to the Iraqi city of Karbala, where the holy shrine of Imam Hussein (AS) is located, to perform mourning rites.
The day of Arbaeen falls on October 19 this year.
